However, I do not "celebrate" Memorial Day. I prefer to commemorate thosewho have died for our nation by freely living my life, which they paid for with theirs. Back to MB business as usual tomorrow.

Context Explanation

I'll conclude with this prayer that I post every year. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord Memorial Day is the day we rememberthosewhogave the ultimate sacrifice. We have a nation now where the argument isn’t about the glass half-full or half-empty….. they hate the glass. This is a time to rededicate ourselves to the mission they gavetheir full measure.

Insight Material

The Island’s Memorial Day ceremony moved indoors due to heavy rain during the country’s 250th founding anniversary. But veterans from around Martha’s Vineyard said the honoring of their fallen comrades was not diminished. Memorial Day has always asked something difficult of us. It asks us to hold grief and gratitude in the same hand. To celebrate the freedoms and communities built through sacrifice while also sitting honestly with the cost of protecting them.

Final Conclusion

'Thank you': Coloradans pay their respects to fallen military members on Memorial Day. We appreciate those visiting cemeteries and memorials to place American flags on the graves of deceased service members. This year, I expressed my gratitude my thanking thosewho fought side by side with them and serve as a living tribute to their service.
